Although we have multiple programs in motion, all of our actions point to the same goal:
Foster youth will be able to maintain a safety net of support while experiencing independence in a supervised living environment giving them extended time as “non-minor dependents” to obtain educational and employment training opportunities which assist in becoming better prepared for successful transition into adulthood and self-sufficiency.
We are able to take either males or females ages 18-21 and we do accept parenting and/or pregnant clients. Upon acceptance into our program, clients are provided the following:
-
An initial 6-8 week consultation with our trauma therapist, a licensed LMFT who has worked with foster youth for over 10 years. Clients have the option of continuing with trauma therapy if they desire to do so with the cost covered by Inner Circle
-
A Caseworker who meets at least weekly to ensure a Needs and Services Plan is developed in conjunction with the client’s TILP and to help the client successfully transition to independent living.
-
24/7 access to crisis management and intervention through an on-call Caseworker.
-
A full-size bed and bedframe with new bedding all of which immediately becomes the property of the client even if they exit the program.
-
Placement in a 2-bedroom apartment (possibly with a roommate who is also a THP-NMD client) with a lease acquired and paid for by Inner Circle.
-
All gas, electric, utilities, Internet, and house phones are also paid by Inner Circle.
-
All apartments are completely furnished and include a microwave, dishwasher, tv, in-unit washer and dryer, cleaning and hygiene supplies, and all essential household items.
-
Transportation of clients to medical appointments, job interviews and grocery shopping if needed.
-
A $500 monthly stipend
-
Assistance preparing for the GED, taking online classes, receiving tutoring, applying to schools and financial aid, and attending our career workshops.
FINDING A WAY HOME
Housing Program
Our housing program encourages the transition to independent living in a sustainable way. We place youth in safe and stable housing and teach skills such as paying rent on a timely basis, being a good neighbor, and maintaining a healthy home. We provide on-site support and schedule case worker visits a minimum of once a week. Inner Circle is a CA state licensed THP-NMD (Transitional Housing Placement Program for Non Minor Dependents)
