PATHWAY TO EDUCATION

LEARNING CENTER

We provide a way for young adults who have been in the foster care system to build reading, language and math skills, prepare and test for the GED, and/or receive the support needed to finish high school. We also strengthen computer literacy skills and provide access to technology and the internet at no cost to our participants.

For our youth who have completed high school or the GED, we provide assistance with applying to colleges and certification programs to further their education using our volunteers who have strong backgrounds in education. Our Learning Center Tutors are experienced public and private middle school, high school, and college instructors with a minimum of a bachelors degree. More than 50% of our volunteer instructors have obtained a masters degree.

Our volunteers  teach  individually or in small groups either in the Learning Center or in a public location near the participant’s home depending on transportation and scheduling needs.

GED PREP & TESTING CENTER

Inner Circle: Find Your Way Home is proud to assist in preparing participants in this program to successfully pass the GED Exam and is currently in the application process to become a testing center. It is not necessary to take all 4 tests at once and can space them out however an individual chooses.

The total cost for foster youth is $0!

The total cost to the public for all 4 subject tests, including prep classes, is $200.00.
